My spacers are made from Grade 9 Titanium (Ti-3Al-2.5V) while all of my bolts/fasteners are made out of Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) Titanium.

The titanium anodizing process creates a thin layer of titanium oxide on the outside of the components, which alters their color and diffracts light. The color is determined by the oxide layer's thickness, and the thickness that forms depends on the voltage applied. So the metal doesn't technically change colour, but the way it diffracts light on the surface does. Science!

Truthfully? It can be quite delicate, particularly to abrasion. The anodizing of Titanium creates an extremely fine layer (we're talking nanometers). It'll be fine for the most part but rubbing from cables or stem bags or the like will wear 'em quick unfortunately
